The city of Bourgas as is in eastern Bulgaria and lies on the shore of the Black Sea. Until recently, it served more as a transfer hub to more popular Bulgarian destinations, but today Burgas itself is also a popular holiday destination. It is a lively and well-maintained city with very pleasant prices both in the city and its surroundings, as well as for plane tickets. Thanks to this, it is the destination of many Slovak vacationers.
Flights from Bratislava
Ryanair and Smartwings operate direct flights from Bratislava to Bourgas Airport, located about 10 kms from the city. The flights are available from June to October.
Transportation from the airport to the city centre
Bus number 15 stops directly in front of the terminal building. Public bus transport takes you to the city's central bus station. There are other buses ready to take you to places and resorts exactly where you need them.
Taxis are available in front of the airport for more comfortable passengers, and you can also rent a car directly at the airport. It is a great choice if you are also planning trips around the area.
„Must see“ in Bourgas
Bourgas is an increasingly popular resort thanks to the services it offers to vacationers. At the same time, it is a very famous spa centre. Many people combine a classic vacation with a visit to thermal springs, which are said to have beneficial effects on health.
During the day, you can enjoy relaxing on the city beach, which offers all amenities from restaurants to bars to water sports. On the contrary, you can spend the evening in the streets where it lives. After dinner on one of the pleasant terraces, you can move to some of the ubiquitous events. Various concerts and open-air theatres are organized here.
If you would like to visit some monuments or interesting places, there are many churches, archaeological sites, and museums in the city and its surroundings. The island of St Anastasia is worth a visit. Anastasia intertwined with various legends and the Pantheon - a monument to deceased fighters against fascism.
